What is Midjourney?

Midjourney is an AI image generation tool developed by the artificial intelligence research lab Midjourney, Inc. It generates images based on input text prompts. The program first entered public testing on July 12, 2022, allowing users to create various styles of image works through chatbot commands on Discord. The tool has undergone continuous iteration and model upgrades (such as MidjourneyV7 and MidjourneyV8), and its official Chinese version is called Youchuan . Midjourney supports multiple art styles, aspect ratios, and parameter adjustments, and is widely used in design, illustration, concept art, and other fields.

Midjourney’s main functions

• Text-to-image generation : After using the /imagine command in Discord, enter the text prompt to generate an image with the corresponding description.
• Creative Image Overlays : Use the /blend command to merge multiple images to create entirely new, blended images, inspiring unique creativity.
• Image expansion and panning : Midjourney supports panning the image to expand the screen content in four directions (up, down, left, and right), and supports zooming out to zoom the main subject of the screen.

How to use Midjourney

Method 1: Discord Community

• Log in or register a Discord account: Midjourney currently supports generating images through the Discord community, so a Discord account is required.
• Choose a paid subscription: Visit midjourney.com/account, sign in with your Discord account, and select a subscription plan.
• To join the Midjourney server on Discord: Visit https://discord.com/invite/midjourney and click to accept the invitation to join the server.
• Switch to the #General or #Newbie channel: Find and select any channel on Discord labeled general or newbie.
• To generate an image using the /imagine command: Type the /imagine command in the input box, then enter a prompt description to generate the image.

Method 2: Midjourney web version

• Login Account: Log in to the Midjourney web client using your Discord or Google account. You can merge login information from both platforms in your account settings to ensure your history is synchronized.
• Start creating: Go to the Midjourney website, find Create: https://www.midjourney.com/imagine, enter your text command to start creating. New users can try it for free 25 times.
• Examples of works: The Midjourney website provides many examples of works. Users can directly copy the prompts of excellent works, modify them, and use them.
